Description:

Set in the early Edo period, Sarutobi Sansei tells the story of Sarutobi Sasuke, played by Ito Atsushi, a dull and budding ninja born in a ninja village deep in the mountains. His quiet life changes when he encounters Oichi, played by Mizukawa Asami, the daughter of Umemiya Shuzen, played by Sakai Masaaki, the chief retainer of a small domain. This fateful meeting prompts the young ninja to charge off for the capital. While Sarutobi Sasuke attempts to protect Oichi from dangerous political intrigue, he must navigate unexpected threats. A devious and mysterious merchant named Tokusaburo, played by Yanagiba Toshiro, suddenly appears before him. Even worse, Sarutobi Sasuke must face his ultimate arch-nemesis, Hattori Hanzomon, who is the grandson of the legendary Hattori Hanzo. Follow this exciting ninja journey filled with action, rivalry, and loyalty in the capital.
