In GATE24: The Border, Japan faces a massive surge in international visitors alongside increasingly sophisticated global crimes, from smuggling and forged passports to human trafficking and terrorism. To protect the nation, a special elite unit reporting directly to the Cabinet Secretariat is formed: GATE24, or Global Airport Task Enforcement. Designed to bypass bureaucratic red tape, the unit unfortunately faces intense resistance from established government agencies. Instead of leading operations, GATE24 is sidelined to a remote, tiny inspection booth handling only charter and small aircraft. Treated as an unwanted burden, the team must fight for cooperation while managing complex border cases. As they clash over strict laws, regulations, and deeply human dilemmas, the members of GATE24 must learn to work together. Through sheer determination, they break down institutional barriers and evolve into a formidable front-line defense, safeguarding the borders against global threats.
