Description:

The Vacation Principle is a touching drama that follows Hoshino Midori, a woman worn down by the hectic pace of her job at a cosmetic surgery clinic. When the clinic unexpectedly goes bankrupt, leaving her unemployed, her older brother Konta suggests she take a vacation from life at their late grandmother’s villa.

At the seaside villa, Midori finds breathtaking views, a garden of ripe summer oranges, and Nishigami, a mysterious caretaker with an otherworldly presence. She is soon joined by her close friends Rinrin, Tsumugi, and Tetsuro, and together they enjoy a carefree, fulfilling summer. However, Nishigami quietly watches over them with an occasional trace of sadness, raising questions about why he protects the villa. As the season ends, an approaching storm threatens to dramatically change both Midori’s and Nishigami’s destinies. This film is a beautiful exploration of healing, friendship, and hidden secrets.
