Samurai High School follows Mochizuki Kotaro, a mildmannered and unmanly high school student. His quiet life changes when he visits a library and meets the mysterious librarian Himiko. She recommends an ancient book about a heroic general from the Sengoku period, 400 years ago. Kotaro notices he shares the same name and age as this ancient general, which triggers a sudden flashback. Later, when Kotaro tells his father about the book, he learns he might be the descendant of a powerful samurai. Soon, his childhood friend Ai sends a message saying their classmate Nakamura Tsuyoshi is in trouble. Kotaro rushes to the scene but lacks the guts to help. At his weakest moment, another flashback transforms him into a samurai.
