Description:

Set in 1985, River of Murder follows SeungHo and DongSik, two middle school best friends who both love MyeongHee. After a harmless bet to understand her feelings, tragedy strikes when MyeongHee is found raped and murdered. The police suspect DongSiks mentally ill brother, KyungSik, tearing the boys' friendship apart. Years later in 1991, SeungHo, imprisoned as a student activist, encounters KyungSik behind bars. After a cryptic encounter, KyungSik commits suicide, forcing a tense reunion between the former friends. By 1998, DongSiks family is completely destroyed. His sister, JinHee, is working as a prostitute in Seoul when she is brutally murdered. SeungHo, now working as a prosecutor, takes on JinHees murder case. This tragic investigation forces him to confront DongSik once again, unearthing dark secrets and unresolved pain from their past. Can they finally find the truth behind these devastating tragedies?
