Set in Seoul in 1910, the film Private Eye follows HONG Jinho, an aspiring private detective who dreams of saving enough money to travel to America. Currently, Jinho earns pocket money by resolving trivial family disputes in Joseon. His path crosses with Gwangsoo, a medical physician in training who makes a terrifying mistake. After secretly taking a corpse from the woods for dissection practice, Gwangsoo discovers the body is actually the son of Seoul's most powerful man. Terrified of murder accusations and planning to flee, Gwangsoo asks Jinho to find the real killer. The stakes escalate when a second victim is found murdered in the exact same manner. Using a mysterious piece of cloth clutched in the victim's hand as their primary lead, Jinho and Gwangsoo must work together to bring themselves one step closer to exposing the real killer.
