Double Tone is a suspenseful thriller revolving around Nakano Yumi, a single career woman at an advertising agency, and Tamura Yumi, a housewife weary of her marriage. Despite being complete strangers, they witness each other's daily lives with unsettling clarity through their nightly dreams. Soon, their boundaries blur. Nakano unexpectedly meets Tamura's friend, Arinuma Ikuko, who introduces her to Tamura's husband, Yohei, as a potential date. Confused by this bizarre crossover, Nakano wonders if her dreams are precognitive, especially when Yohei asks her out. Meanwhile, Tamura dreams of a shocking revelation: Nakano apparently died two years ago. Terrified this might be a dark premonition, Tamura tracks down Nakano's real-world advertising agency. After confirming its existence, she desperately tries to send Nakano a warning message to uncover how and when she died. As startling situations escalate, both women are gripped by a terrifying, inexplicable reality.
