Tokyo Love Story follows Kanji, who relocates to the Heart Sports sales department in Tokyo. There, he meets the energetic Rika while reuniting with childhood friends Mikami and Satomi. Both Kanji and Mikami have harbored crushes on Satomi since high school. When Kanji witnesses Mikami kissing Satomi, he is devastated but soon finds comfort in Rika, whose lively and caring nature wins him over. However, their relationship becomes highly unstable. Kanji still holds feelings for Satomi, while Rika hides a complicated affair with their boss, Sendo. As complications rise, including Rika bearing Sendo's child, Kanji ultimately chooses Satomi over Rika. Meanwhile, Mikami, rejected by Satomi who doubts his sincerity, faces his own romantic frustrations while trying to pursue his medical school classmate, Nagasaki.
