Ofukou-san is a captivating NHK drama that follows the life of Sakura Tsugumi, a twenty-eight-year-old woman famously nicknamed Ofukousan, or The Unfortunate One. Cursed with a strange jinx, anyone who comes into contact with her suffers terrible bad luck. To protect her beloved family during her sister’s upcoming wedding celebrations, Tsugumi decides to leave her hometown and move to Tokyo. Determined to find true happiness and a fresh start, she secures a job at Anew, a promising new startup founded by Sakae Konosuke, a highly optimistic young entrepreneur. Tsugumi hopes this move will finally break her cycle of misfortune. However, during a warm welcome party hosted by her new boss, disaster strikes. It quickly becomes hilariously and painfully obvious that her powerful jinx is still active, threatening her new career and the lives of those around her. Will Tsugumi ever find the happiness she desperately seeks, or is she destined to remain the queen of bad luck?
