Description:

The psychological drama Deep In follows actor Zhang Zhun as he tries to overcome a career slump by auditioning for the film Into the Role. This decision leads him to cross paths with Zhen Xin, a highly successful young director. In the film, the two characters they play—a doctor and a patient—become locked in a tense struggle of desire and emotional manipulation. However, the boundaries between the movie and real life begin to disintegrate. Zhen Xin’s increasingly intrusive behavior pushes their off-screen relationship to spiral out of control. As their performance and reality become dangerously intertwined, both men find it almost impossible to distinguish their genuine feelings from fiction. Adapted from the popular novel Deep in the Act by Tong Zi, this intense thriller explores the dark side of obsession, fame, and the thin line between acting and reality.
