Set one year after the events of the drama series, the film Moteki centers on thirty-one-year-old Yukiyo Fujimoto, played by Mirai Moriyama. Currently struggling with no money, no dreams, and no girlfriend, Yukiyo decides to leave his job at a staffing firm to start a brand new life working as a writer for a news website. Out of nowhere, Yukiyo experiences moteki, a sudden period of overwhelming popularity with women. Suddenly, four distinct women show romantic interest in him. There is Miyuki, a cute magazine editor played by Masami Nagasawa, and Rumiko, a pure and naive office worker played by Kumiko Aso. He also attracts Ai, a beautiful shop assistant played by Riisa Naka, and Motoko, a beautiful but tough coworker played by Yoko Maki. Although Yukiyo desperately tries to remain calm, his world is completely shaken by the sudden attention from these attractive women.
