L-DK 2014 is an engaging romantic comedy movie based on the popular manga series LDK by Ayu Watanabe, published in Monthly Bessatsu Friend. The plot centers on high school student Aoi Nishimori, played by Ayame Gouriki. When her parents move to another city for work, Aoi chooses to stay behind and live alone in an apartment rather than transfer to a new school. Her independent life takes an unexpected turn when Shusei Kugayama, portrayed by Kento Yamazaki, moves in next door. Shusei is a highly popular student at their school. After a clumsy mistake causes the water sprinkler in Shusei's apartment to go off, his room becomes temporarily uninhabitable.
