In the classic romantic drama Christmas In August, Jung Won runs a small, humble photo studio in Seoul, a space inherited from his widower father. He spends his days handling fussy customers and developing pictures, accepting his peaceful routine even though he is terminally ill. Despite being in his mid-30s, Jung Won calmly faces his limited time on earth, despite the silent worries of his father and younger sister. However, his quiet life takes an unexpected turn when he meets Da Rim, a bold Traffic Control Division worker who frequently visits his studio to develop parking violation snapshots. Da Rim’s lively presence and subtle attempts to capture his attention stir deep feelings within him. As a tender connection begins to bloom, Jung Won’s health rapidly deteriorates. Faced with his approaching end, he must prepare for the painful duty of saying a final goodbye to his family, friends, his beloved studio, and Da Rim.
