Description:

In "Malice," the sudden, brutal murder of Shoto University's Secretary General Kozono sends shockwaves through the academic community. Detective Hoshino, arriving at the scene, finds a complex web of deceit. The primary suspect quickly emerges: Tanimura Kaho, an ambitious university lecturer known for her desire to advance at any cost, who had been involved in a six-month affair with Kozono, a man wielding significant influence over personnel affairs. Kaho is promptly arrested, but the official narrative begins to unravel.

Reporter Maruyama Sota receives an anonymous email exposing the affair, leading him to suspect a calculated attempt to manipulate public perception of the incident. He embarks on his own independent investigation. Simultaneously, Detective Hoshino becomes increasingly disturbed by the police's rushed and superficial conclusion. He senses that Kaho might be an innocent victim, potentially framed by an unseen hand, prompting him to dig deeper into the true motives behind the murder.
