Yasashii Neko unveils a heartfelt drama about Miyuki, a single mother and nursery teacher, whose life transforms after meeting Kumara, a Sri Lankan disaster volunteer in Tohoku. A year later, their fated reunion blossoms into a deep connection. Kumara quickly bonds with Miyuki's daughter, Maya, and the three begin living as a joyful family unit. Their dream of a permanent future together, however, is tragically cut short. Soon after submitting their marriage registration, Kumara is arrested for overstaying his visa and faces imminent deportation. Accused of a fake marriage, the couple is plunged into despair. Overwhelmed but determined, Miyuki and Maya seek legal assistance from lawyer Megumi Koichiro. Their only path to salvation is a challenging lawsuit against the government, aiming to overturn the deportation order and secure special permission for Kumara to remain. This powerful film portrays a family's courageous battle to stay united against overwhelming odds.
