Description:

"Yan Suo Chong Lou" is set in the 1920s in White Sand, a small town in Anhui Province renowned for its Chastity Archway of Widowhood. This revered monument honors women who remain fiercely loyal to their deceased husbands, devoting their lives to family service. Xia Meng Han, from a distinguished background, endures a deeply unhappy marriage to the spoiled son of the powerful Zeng clan. His life is a continuous pursuit of entertainment, excessive drinking, and womanizing. This reckless lifestyle tragically culminates in his death during a brawl, leaving Meng Han a widow facing the town's stringent expectations. The adopted son, Yu Hang, witnesses Meng Han's profound suffering.
