Wushu is an engaging martial arts drama that follows the story of Li Er, a highly talented teenage sanda fighter specializing in Chinese kickboxing. When Li Er falls head over heels for a beautiful girl training in wushu, his life takes an unexpected turn. Desperate to win her heart, he makes the bold decision to abandon his coach's dream of making him the provincial sanda champion. Instead, he takes up wushu, the same martial arts form made famous by international action star Jet Li. However, the transition is far from easy. Li Er must deal with the harsh reality of losing his elite champion status to become a complete nobody in competitive wushu. As he struggles to master the new discipline, he must also find a way to get the girl to notice him. To make matters worse, Li Er has to balance his intense training with his academics to avoid getting kicked out of school for poor marks.
