Why Don't You Play in Hell is a chaotic action film originally written by director Sion Sono fifteen years ago. The story centers on two rival gangsters, Muto (Jun Kunimura) and Ikegami (Shinichi Tsutsumi), who fiercely hate each other. However, Ikegami is secretly in love with Muto’s actress daughter, Michiko (Fumi Nikaido). Meanwhile, Muto is determined to fulfill his wife Shizue’s (Tomochika) ultimate dream of seeing their daughter star in a feature film. Enter Koji (Gen Hoshino), a simple passerby who is suddenly mistaken for a movie director. To handle the bizarre situation, Koji asks independent film director Hirata (Hiroki Hasegawa) to cast Michiko as the leading actress in his film. What starts as an ambitious filmmaking endeavor soon goes completely wrong as the worlds of passionate indie filmmakers and deadly yakuza clash in spectacular fashion.
