Set in the Joseon era during a period marked by the strictest prohibition laws, "Moonshine" dramatically illustrates that human desire is no match for authority. The narrative introduces Inspector Nam Young, an ambitious official from The Office of the Inspector General, who arrives in Hanyang determined to achieve fame and restore his family's status. Simultaneously, Kang Ro Seo, an impoverished aristocratic woman, secretly crafts moonshine to pay off debts from her mother's medication and her brother's books. Adding to the forbidden allure is Crown Prince Lee Pyo, who frequently scales palace walls in search of forbidden alcohol. A fateful encounter brings this disparate trio together, leading them to an astonishing discovery: a hidden stash of alcohol. However, revealing this dangerous secret could result in certain death, setting the stage for a gripping Joseon era drama.
