Description:

Warai no Kaibutsu introduces Tsuchiya, a young man who bypasses conventional employment after high school to dedicate himself entirely to writing jokes for comedy programs. His ambition leads him to an apprenticeship at a comedy theater. However, his profound devotion to laughter and a distinct lack of social skills quickly create friction with his coworkers, resulting in his dismissal. In deep despair, Tsuchiya redirects his efforts, submitting his material to a national radio program. His talent catches the attention of one of the show's stars, who extends an invitation to Tokyo. Working for a figure he profoundly admires, Tsuchiya throws himself back into his creative work. Yet, his persistent social challenges once again leave him in dire straits, threatening his aspirations and his singular pursuit of bringing joy through comedy.
