In the captivating drama Virgin Road, Sakurai Kazumi leaves her job to pursue jewelry design in New York, going against the wishes of her stubborn father, Takeda Tetsuya. While struggling to adapt to contact lenses, she is briefly helped by a mysterious stranger. Years later, she boards a flight home after her brother Taku sends a letter stating their father is critically ill. Suffering from morning sickness, Kazumi encounters a sloppily dressed man named Yoshimi Kaoru on the plane, recognizing him as the stranger from her past when he helps her find her dropped contacts. To avoid upsetting her father, as she had lied about being in a relationship before her recent breakup, she hires Kaoru to act as her fiancé. Upon arrival, they realize her father is safe after minor surgery, but a massive shock awaits the family when Kazumi reveals she is pregnant and determined to keep the baby.
