In the action-thriller Undercover Blues, veteran cop Frank Ray Lui Leungwai discovers that his former protege Joe Daniel Wu Yanzu has gone deep undercover within a dangerous triad gang. When the Hong Kong police department loses contact with Joe after he travels to Malaysia with triad boss Spanner Blackie Ko Shouliang, Frank is ordered to track him down. To accomplish this, Frank assembles an unorthodox rescue team: depressed cop Charles Wong Hei, compromised operative Simon Mark Cheng Honam, and Fred Simon Lui Yuyeung, Franks former partner turned feared triad enforcer. Arriving in Malaysia, the team faces local gang threats before locating a mutilated Spanner, who was ambushed during a deal. With Joe missing and believed to be held by ruthless drug kingpin Hung Shing, Franks team must navigate a deadly web of betrayal. As Freds personal agenda surfaces, the mission spirals out of control, putting everyones lives in extreme danger.
