In the drama Tumbling, Azuma Wataru is a feared third-year student at Karasumori High School. Known for his short temper, he is forced by his teacher to join a club activity. Azuma struggles to stick with anything until he discovers that Satonaka Mari, a beautiful transfer student, has joined the female rhythmic sports gymnastics club. Seeking to be near her, he joins the understaffed male rhythmic sports gymnastics club, captained by Takenaka Yuta. The male team faces harsh ridicule from the female club's coach and is barely allowed to use the gym. However, their fortunes change when a sixth boy joins the club. With the long-sought sixth member finally on board, Takenaka Yuta decides to enter the team into an official competition, setting off a story of determination and teamwork.
