The emotional drama Tsurukame Josanin Minami no Shima Kara follows Onodera Mariya, a young housewife whose happy marriage abruptly ends when her husband, Tatsuya, suddenly disappears without a trace. Desperate for answers, Mariya finds a heart-shaped postcard of a southern Okinawan island and decides to travel there in search of him. Upon her arrival, she crosses paths with Tsuruta Kameko, a disillusioned former midwife from Tokyo who set up the island's only maternity clinic after winning the lottery. Encouraged by Nagai Akira, Kameko strives to create her ideal childbirth sanctuary on this remote island. As these two women from different generations bond, Mariya is deeply touched by the warmth of Kameko and the local islanders. Surrounded by this comforting environment, Mariya begins to heal, slowly opening her heart to confront her personal struggles and find her path forward.
