Trick is a hilarious mystery comedy that follows Yamada Naoko, played by Nakama Yukie, a talented twenty-three-year-old magician who struggles to pay her rent due to constantly losing her jobs. Desperate for money, Naoko takes on a unique challenge from physics professor Ueda, played by Abe Hiroshi, a skeptic offering a financial reward to anyone who can prove magic is real. Naoko easily fools the professor with her clever stage tricks. Impressed by her skills, Ueda recruits her to help him expose the fraudulent practices of a local cult. Alongside the quirky police officer Yabe, this unlikely duo embarks on a series of entertaining adventures. Together, they investigate various supernatural mysteries, using Naoko's insider knowledge of illusions and Ueda's scientific mind to debunk frauds and reveal the truth behind seemingly impossible phenomena.
