Description:

Tree With Deep Roots is a gripping historical drama filled with revenge, mystery, and political intrigue. Early in his reign, King Se Jong accidentally causes the tragic deaths of his in-laws and their slaves during an attempt to rescue them from his brutal father, King Tae Jong. Two young slaves, Ddol Bok and Dam, survive the tragedy but remain unaware of each other's survival. Consumed by hatred, Ddol Bok trains to become a formidable warrior and returns to the palace under the name Kang Chae Yoon to assassinate the king. Meanwhile, Dam, carrying a photographic memory and deep guilt, serves as a mute court lady named So Yi. Kang Chae Yoon’s revenge plans are disrupted when he gets caught up in investigating the mysterious deaths of several Hall of Worthies scholars. He soon uncovers a dangerous conspiracy led by Hidden Root, a secret society founded by followers of Jeong Do Jeon. Led secretly by Jeong Gi Joon, this group aims to strip the king of his power.
