In the gripping drama Tokyo Refugees, Osamu Tokieda is a student attending a third rate university in Tokyo. His ordinary life takes a drastic turn when he is suddenly expelled due to unpaid tuition. Making matters worse, his father abruptly cuts off all contact and stops sending money for his living expenses. Left with no financial support, Osamu is forced to seek shelter in a net cafe, living overnight alongside other refugees who have fallen through the cracks of society. Desperate to rebuild his life and survive, Osamu sets his sights on becoming a successful host. However, the harsh reality of urban survival proves to be much more brutal than he anticipated. Despite his efforts, Osamu soon finds himself descending into homelessness.
