The Way Home is a touching family drama about Sangwoo, a six-year-old city boy. When his mom has to work, Sangwoo is brought to his grandmas house in the quiet country to stay for a while. Unused to rural life, he instantly hates his new surroundings, where there is nothing fancy to play with. He also hates his grandma, who knows absolutely nothing about modern fast food. Sangwoo rebels against the simple lifestyle, but his grandmas silent patience and unconditional love slowly begin to break down his defenses. As they spend time together, a deep bond forms between the young boy and his grandmother. However, when the time comes for him to leave the country, the way going back home to the city is not as pleasant as he originally thought it would be.
