The Seaside Motel is a surreal Japanese ensemble comedy directed by Moriya Kentaro, based on the comic book Motel by Okada Yukio. Ironically surrounded by mountains with no sea in sight, this strange motel becomes the stage for a chaotic, fateful night. The story follows a bizarre group of guests staying in four separate rooms. In one room, a traveling salesman of bogus cosmetics, played by Ikuta Toma, crosses paths with a call girl, played by Kumiko Aso. Meanwhile, other rooms hold a businessman with erectile dysfunction and his bored wife, an indebted gambler portrayed by Yamada Takayuki with his girlfriend played by Narumi Riko and his debt collector played by Tamayama Tetsuji, and a cabaret girl with her usual customer. Although these strangers begin the night with their own separate problems, their paths soon intertwine into an unsolvable, chaotic knot. This hilarious and eccentric comedy delivers a wild ride where separate stories collide in the most unexpected ways.
