The Samurai season 7 follows the action-packed adventures of Shintaro, a skilled wandering swordsman travelling across 18th century Japan. In reality, Shintaro is Akikusa Shintaro, whose true identity is Matsudaira Nobuchiyo. Because he is the son of a concubine, Nobuchiyo has no claim to power. Instead, he assumes the guise of a roving samurai detective and spy to protect his younger half-brother, Tokugawa Ienari, the 11th Tokugawa shogun who is still a minor. To ensure the young shogun remains safe on the throne, Shintaro must use his elite swordsmanship to uncover and eliminate dangerous plots orchestrated by rival feudal lords. This exciting season delivers suspenseful investigations and martial arts battles as Shintaro and Tombei risk everything to defend the shogunate and maintain peace throughout the land.
