In the mystery thriller The Ring Virus, journalist Hong SunJoo investigates the sudden deaths of her friends and discovers a videotape containing incomprehensible images. The tape carries a deadly curse: the viewer will die in one week unless they perform a specific task. However, the explanation of the task has been erased. To break the curse, SunJoo and a doctor named ChoiYul embark on a desperate journey. They trace the tape back to Park UnSeo, a psychic born a hermaphrodite who suffered painful media exposure and withdrew from the world. Having worked in a night club and harbored dark secrets, UnSeo created the videotape to reveal herself and retaliate against society. The tape acts like a virus, infiltrating the lives of its viewers, and any attempt to block it results in negative consequences. SunJoo and ChoiYul must uncover the truth behind UnSeo’s tragic past to survive the unstoppable curse.
