In the psychological horror movie The Red Shoes, Sunjae’s life falls apart when she discovers her husband’s unfaithfulness. Seeking a fresh start, she moves into a cheap, rundown apartment at Goksung Station with her young daughter, Han Taesoo. During a subway commute, Sunjae discovers a mysterious pair of pink shoes and takes them home. Instantly, Han Taesoo becomes obsessed with them. The cursed footwear sparks intense greed and jealousy in anyone who sees them, while Sunjae is plagued by terrifying visions and bloody nightmares. The horror intensifies when her friend Kimmi Hee steals the shoes, only to meet a gruesome death in a sudden accident. Desperate for answers, Sunjae’s boyfriend, architect decorator Choin Choi, begins to investigate the curse. His research uncovers a chilling connection to a photograph from 1944. As Choin Choi digs deeper, he unravels the tragic and deadly fate of the shoes’ original owner, forcing them to confront a dark history before the curse claims more victims.
