Directed by Park Heung Sik, The Railroad is a meticulously choreographed psychological drama that follows the lives of two strangers brought together by fate. Man Soo, a train conductor played by Kim Kang Woo, lives a routine life until a traumatic passenger suicide forces him to take a leave of absence. Overwhelmed, he boards the last train. Meanwhile, Hanna, an attractive college instructor played by Son Tae Young, faces her own crisis when her affair with a married professor is exposed. Abandoned and betrayed, she quits her job and boards the same train. Though they seemingly have nothing in common, these two broken individuals cross paths at their lowest points. Finding themselves on the same journey, Man Soo and Hanna discover that sharing their pain with a stranger offers the comfort and solace they desperately need to face their demons.
