The Prince of Tennis stars Kanata Hongo as tennis prodigy Echizen Ryoma. After winning four consecutive victories in the USA, Ryoma is brought back to Japan by his father and enrolled in the prestigious Seishun Academy Middle School, which is famous for its tennis team. Ryoma soon finds himself as the only firstyear on the school team, playing alongside school captain and national player Tezuka Kunimitsu, the coolheaded Oishi Syuichirou, and the acrobatic Kikamura Eiji.
