Set during a hot, humid summer in Seoul, The Power Of Kangwon Province follows two individuals trying to navigate the painful aftermath of a broken relationship. JiSook, recovering from a passionate affair with her married university instructor SangKwon, decides to escape the suffocating city. Seeking to revive her spirit, she joins two girlfriends on a scenic trip to the mountains and temples of Kangwondo. Meanwhile, SangKwon appears to have moved on, focusing his energy on securing a tenured academic position. However, JiSook remains the only woman he has ever truly loved. Coincidentally, SangKwon travels to Kangwon Province at the exact same time. As both ex-lovers wander through the beautiful yet melancholic mountain landscape, their separate journeys parallel each other. Without realizing how close they are, both JiSook and SangKwon experience a brush with the very same tragic event up in the mountains, forever linking their separate paths.
