In the action thriller The Man From Nowhere 2010, Cha TaeSik, played by Won Bin, leads a quiet, solitary life running a dilapidated pawn shop. His only friend is SoMi, played by Kim SaeRon, a young neighbor girl who escapes her troubled home life by visiting him. The situation turns dangerous when SoMis mother, HyoJeong, played by Kim HyoSeo, steals a stash of heroin from a nightclub and pawns the camera bag containing the drugs to Cha TaeSik without his knowledge. Soon, ruthless mafia members hunting for the stolen drugs storm the pawn shop. After hearing SoMi screaming on a phone, Cha TaeSik surrenders the bag, but the gangsters kidnap both the girl and her mother anyway. Forced into action, Cha TaeSik must hunt down the vicious mobsters to rescue SoMi, confronting both the relentless police force and his own mysterious past along the way.
