In the movie The Little House 2014, Takeshi discovers several notebooks written by his late aunt, Taki Nunomiya. Through these journals, he learns about her untold life before World War II. Back then, Taki worked as a housemaid in Tokyo, living in a little house with a red triangular roof. The home belongs to a toy company employee, his beautiful wife Tokiko, and their five-year-old son Kyoichi. While Taki silently longs for Tokiko, the household dynamic changes when a young art school graduate named Shoji Itakura is hired. Both Tokiko and Taki are deeply drawn to Shoji's artistic talents. However, as the war situation deteriorates, the relationships within the little house also begin to crumble.
