In the drama film The Little House, Takeshi discovers a collection of notebooks left behind by his late, unmarried aunt, Taki Nunomiya. Through these personal writings, Takeshi uncovers the secret history of his aunt's youth. Prior to World War II, Taki worked as a dedicated housemaid in a Tokyo home featuring a distinctive red triangular roof. The household consisted of a toy company employee, his beautiful wife Tokiko, and their five-year-old son Kyoichi. While working there, Taki secretly longs for her employer, Tokiko. The quiet family dynamic changes when the husband hires Shoji Itakura, a young art school graduate. Both Tokiko and Taki become deeply fascinated by the young man's artistic talents. However, as the threat of World War II worsens, the tension rises and the relationships inside the little house begin to deteriorate. This emotional story beautifully explores love, longing, and domestic life on the brink of war.
