The King Boxer is a martial arts comedy from Douglas Kung's My Way Film Production that pays tribute to the classic 1990s Hong Kong cinema. The story follows a headstrong young man, played by Chin Kar Lok, who is the son of a wealthy businessman. Disregarding his father's wishes for him to learn business wiles, he is far more interested in mastering Kung Fu. His passion leads him to join the struggling Yiyin kung fu school, which is on the verge of closing after its master is defeated by their bitter rivals. He joins the school primarily to win the heart of May Kwong, one of the master's daughters. However, a major misunderstanding leads the desperate family to believe he is a skilled fighter, placing all their hopes on him to rescue their school. Featuring intense fight scenes and a classic villainous performance by Billy Chow, this film blends action and humor as a reluctant hero must step up to save a legacy.
