The Fourth Portrait is a gripping drama that follows Xiang, a lonely ten-year-old boy facing an uncertain future after the death of his father. Just as Xiang prepares for a bleak life in an orphanage, his estranged mother suddenly reappears. However, his new life is far from a happy reunion. Trapped in a chilly home with a loveless mother and a hateful stepfather, Xiang takes refuge in drawing, using his art to express his deep longing for affection and care. Hope begins to flicker when he forms unexpected bonds with two peculiar individuals: an old school janitor who does not show his kindness easily, and a portly man troubled by vivid nightmares of his brother. Through these relationships and his emotional drawings, Xiang navigates a dark childhood.
