The mystery thriller The Crimes That Bind begins when Michiko Oshitani, a resident of Shiga Prefecture, is found strangled to death in a Tokyo apartment. The apartment owner, Mutsuo Koshikawa, has gone missing, leaving detectives with a baffling case. Detective Yuhei Matsumiya struggles to find any connection between Michiko and the missing Mutsuo.
