In the mystery thriller The Bullet Vanishes, the overbearing factory owner Ding Liu Kaichi intimidates his workers in Tiancheng County, leading to the tragic public Russian roulette suicide of a female employee named Xuxu, who was accused of stealing bullets. Soon after, a eerie curse about a Phantom Bullet is found on the factory walls. When subsequent workers die from mysterious gunshots where the bullets vanish without a trace, panic spreads that the factory is truly cursed. To solve these impossible crimes, Tiancheng police chief Jin summons Song Donglu, a newly promoted and eccentric detective. Song partners with Guo Zhui, the fastest gunman in Tiancheng, and novice policeman Xiaowu. Together, they must investigate the peculiar murders, unraveling a web of conspiracies, fear, and phantom bullets before the killer strikes again.
