The Broken Us centers on Sun, an autistic man whose persistent suicidal plans are abruptly halted when he witnesses the sudden death of Uncle Mok, the cherished owner of the Tiny Butterfly coffee shop and library. This unexpected tragedy unfolds directly before his eyes. He is not the sole witness, however. Yaimai, a sharp financial planner known for one-night stands, and Tor, a sixteen-year-old runaway, also happen to be present. Forced together by circumstance, these three disparate strangers must navigate the immediate aftermath. They provide their accounts to the police and, unexpectedly, find themselves tasked with arranging the funeral for the kinless Uncle Mok. This shared journey pushes them to confront their individual lives and forge an unlikely connection amidst their collective grief and personal struggles.
