The Breaking Point delves into the life of Ching Long, a rebellious young man who defied his father by moving from Hong Kong to Taiwan. After returning to Hong Kong, Ching Long works manual labor jobs and as a stunt double. The narrative explores his struggle to resolve a deep misunderstanding with his father, alongside his complex romantic relationships. He becomes involved with a Vietnamese refugee, Chin Kiu, and also Sum Mun Yee, his sister's best friend. Meanwhile, Ching Long's best friend, Ko Tin Chun, a successful architect, is secretly in love with Sum Mun Yee. As Ko Tin Chun discovers her true feelings lie with Ching Long, combined with other escalating events, he begins to see Ching Long as a formidable obstacle. Their once unbreakable friendship is pushed to its absolute limits, hurtling towards its inevitable breaking point.
