The Book and the Sword is a spectacular martial arts action film based on the popular novel by Louis Cha, also known as Chin Yung. Legendary actor Adam Cheng, famous for Zu Warriors from the Magic Mountain, stars in a dual role. He plays both Chan Garlok, the charismatic leader of the rebellious Red Flower Society, and the Ching Emperor Qian Lung. The gripping plot follows Chan and his fellow fighters as they attempt to assassinate the Emperor. However, a shocking discovery leads to a fierce showdown, resulting in Chan being exiled to the western frontier. There, he meets the legendary Princess Fragrance Liu Ying.
