The psychological thriller film The Black House follows Wakatusuki Masaaki Uchino, a meek insurance adjuster working at the Showa Life Insurance company in Kanazawa. His quiet life takes a dark turn when he receives an unsettling phone call from a customer named Shinobu Ootake, who inquires about life insurance payouts in the event of a suicide. Soon after, Wakatusuki is summoned to the home of a client named Shigenori. Upon investigating the residence, he makes a gruesome discovery: the body of Shigenoris teenage son hanging from the ceiling in what appears to be a suicide. As Wakatusuki delves deeper into the tragic case, he uncovers a horrifying connection. Shigenori has recently taken out an insurance policy on his wife, who happens to be the very same person who called him asking about suicide payouts. Plunged into a web of greed and deceit, Wakatusuki must navigate this chilling mystery before it is too late.
