Tensai Tantei Mitarai is an intriguing mystery drama that follows the genius neuroscientist and famous sleuth Mitarai Kiyoshi, played by Tamaki Hiroshi, and his good friend, author Ishioka Kazuki, played by Domoto Koichi. The mystery begins when Ishioka shares a bizarre radio story about a long-haired woman in a white dress. Under the pouring rain, she placed a closed umbrella in the middle of the road until a car ran over it, then walked away with the bent umbrella. Mitarai instantly deduces that this strange behavior points to a bloody murder nearby. To prove his hypothesis, he contacts the police. The next morning, his prediction comes true when an old man is found stabbed to death in his apartment. However, when Mitarai and Ishioka investigate the crime scene with the police, they encounter a shocking twist. The dead body of the very woman in the white dress, whom Mitarai suspected of committing the crime, is also found inside another room of the apartment.
