Taiyo to Umi no Kyoshitsu is a captivating drama set in a private high school by the sea. At this highly academia-oriented institution, senior students dedicate all their time to studying for stressful college entrance exams. Their rigid routine is disrupted when an unconventional teacher named Sakurai Sakutaro is assigned to the school. With a mysterious background and a bold, pushy personality, Sakurai Sakutaro initially confuses everyone. The students are highly reluctant to open up to him, especially since he constantly sticks his nose into their private affairs. However, Sakurai Sakutaro refuses to give up on them. He passionately tries to help them overcome their personal struggles, offering constant guidance and encouragement. Slowly, a strong bond of trust develops between the teacher and his pupils. Teaching them to live in the moment which exists only now, his powerful message gradually reaches the hearts of his students, transforming their perspectives on life and education forever.
