In the surreal comedy film Symbol, a Japanese man wakes up completely alone inside a brightly illuminated white room with no windows or doors. His bizarre ordeal begins when he presses a mysterious, phallic protuberance on the wall, causing a pink toothbrush to materialize out of thin air. Soon, he finds himself trapped in a hilarious game of survival, pressing random wall bumps to release odd items like a rope, a toilet plunger, and an earthenware jug of sushi. He must use these random objects to construct a giant, real-life mouse trap game to escape. Meanwhile, in a dusty town, a green-masked Mexican wrestler named Escargot Man prepares for a monumental match. As his worried family gathers around him, anxious about his strange impassivity before the battle, the connection between these two wildly different worlds begins to unfold.
