Sweetness In The Salt is a gripping historical drama of love, betrayal, and redemption. Nip Chi Yuen (Ma Steven), an anti-smuggling official, goes undercover as a poor scholar at Taus Fort to dismantle a major salt-smuggling ring. There, he falls in love with Tau Sing Suet (Yeung Yi), the chief smuggler's daughter, who kindly shelters him. However, a tragic raid separates them. Suet is rescued by Wu Ting Hin (Wong Ho Yin), the sickly son of wealthy salt merchant Wu Kin (Kwok Fung). Suet's world shatters when she discovers Yuen is the official responsible for her parents' execution, turning her deep love into bitter hatred.
